About Us

In 1924, a group of postal employees met in the basement of the downtown Knoxville Post Office. This visionary group recognized the importance of the credit union movement and became the first members/owners of the Knoxville Post Office Credit Union.

As charter members, they organized the credit union using the basic concept of a cooperative, non-profit financial institution. Member-owned and guided by a member-elected, volunteer Board of Directors, their purpose was to provide members with quality financial services. The credit union promoted the importance of savings and provided loans at affordable rates of interest.

In Fall of 2013, the credit union rebranded to TNConnect Credit Union. This name change best described their long-term goal of connection with their membership. Membership now includes anyone who lives, works, worships, or goes to school in Blount, Sevier or Knox counties.

Today, as Tennessee’s oldest existing credit union, TNConnect is proud of its strong, stable heritage and tradition of quality service. We continue to provide a full range of financial products, from savings and loans to checking and credit cards, designed to meet the needs of an ever-changing membership. Our proven ability to deliver a wide variety of services means the very best in benefits for you and your family. At TNConnect, we are committed to helping you meet your financial needs of today and reach your dreams of tomorrow.
