Helping Local Schools
As the new school year approaches, many local families are facing the rising costs of school supplies. To help, our Connect Cares team is hosting another School Supply Drive benefiting students at West Haven Elementary and Seymour Primary School.
Through July 31, we're collecting new school supplies to help local students start the year ready to learn. From notebooks and crayons to backpacks and pencils, every donation makes a meaningful impact.
Donations should be new, unopened items and may be dropped off at either tnConnect branch location. View the schools' supply wish lists at the button below. Together, we can help local students start the school year with confidence.
Tax-Free Tennessee
Do your back-to-school shopping tax-free! Tennessee's traditional sales tax holiday on clothing, school supplies and computers begins at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, and ends at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2026. During this time clothing, school supplies and computers may be purchased tax-free!
Helping Families Prepare
Back-to-school expenses can add up quickly. From supplies and clothing to technology and activity fees, preparing for a new school year can put a strain on family budgets. Our low-rate Back-to-School Loans can help make those expenses more manageable. With affordable rates and a simple application process, you can get the funds you need and focus on helping your students start the year strong.
Connect Cares
At tnConnect, caring for our community goes beyond banking. Through Connect Cares, our employee volunteer group, we're committed to making a positive impact where we live and work. From supporting local schools to promoting financial wellness, our team is passionate about giving back. As we reflect on the first five months of 2026, we're proud to share the difference Connect Cares has made in our communities.
JANUARY
We kicked off 2026 by serving dinner to an Emerald Youth Foundation Wednesday night gathering. This time was spent supporting the important work that Emerald Youth does to mentor and guide the next generation.
FEBRUARY
We partnered with Second Harvest of East Tennessee for a Protein Drive, collecting over 375 pounds of non-perishable foods that will provide approximately 312 meals to neighbors facing hunger across our service area.
MARCH
We were proud to honor Bud as our Member of the Quarter! A loyal member who has relied on tnConnect for many important life events, Bud truly embodies the credit union philosophy of People Helping People.
APRIL
Connect Cares recognized the individuals who serve, protect, and inspire our communities every day. From local pharmacy staff and veterinary clinic workers to military service members, we honored those who quietly make our neighborhoods safer, healthier, and stronger.
MAY
We held the 2nd annual Connect Cares for Children fundraising campaign, this year benefitting Dolly Parton Children's Hospital! This initiative allows us to support exceptional pediatric care right in our community. We're excited to continue this meaningful tradition!
