Help keep our neighbors warm this winter! Coats for the Cold, an annual coat drive led by Knoxville Area Rescue Ministries, collects thousands of coats for people throughout our region who need a little extra warmth during the colder months.

tnConnect is proud to be a collection point for new or gently used men’s, women’s, and children’s coats from October 1–30.

Simply drop your donations in the collection bins located in our lobbies. Together, we can help make sure our neighbors have a warm coat when they need it most.

COATS FOR THE COLD HISTORY
In 2024 and 2025, the East Tennessee community donated more than a combined 17,500 coats! This drive has been a Knoxville tradition since 1985. WIVK-FM started the coat drive when a news story reported a homeless man had frozen to death on the streets of Knoxville one cold winter night. Since then, Coats for the Cold strikes a powerful chord among the volunteers of East TN. KARM now spearheads the drive in partnership with WIVK-FM, WVLT-TV, and Prestige Cleaners.
